Types of Grants
As you saw in the glossaries, there are
many different types of grants. There are research grants to fund individuals
research projects, conference grants to fund conference presentations and training,
institutional training grants to fund training programs, educational grants to
fund educational supplies and programs, and program grants to fund programs
such as homeless shelters or youth violence prevention program and program
supplies (I once wrote proposal for a Target grant to fund the provision of
planners for participants of a job readiness program at the department of human
services). In regard to the question, “What can grants fund?” The answer is
ANYTHING, if the funder agrees to the proposal.
